Time tends to go slower when we’re feeling down and speed up when we’re happy, which probably explains why January felt hella long and February has gone by so fast for me (yes, I know the title says “this month” even though it’s the already the 20th – just hear me out.)
Regardless of the month, here are 5 new routines/habits I’ll be trying to implement into my daily life this month to manifest happiness, success, and all those other ~good vibes~ 2018 has to offer.
1. Intermittent Fasting
If you google “intermittent fasting” you’ll find tons of articles and videos explaining exactly what it is, its benefits, etc., but basically, IF is cycling through periods of fasting and eating in order to eat less calories and thus lose weight. What I’ll be trying is the 16:8 method, where you fast for 16 hours and have an eating period of 8 hours. For me, that means I can only eat food starting at 11AM through 7PM, which honestly isn’t that different from how I normally eat (minus breakfast rip). Anyways, I’ll keep y’all updated with how this goes!
The goal is to really just cut down on how much I snack, how many calories I consume, and cut a few pounds. Fun fun.
2. Daily Journaling
I don’t know about you guys, but most of the time, especially when I’m extra stress or mentally cluttered, I tend to forget what happened on certain days, what I wore (I hate repeating outfits), etc. etc. Forgetting things sucks. Although I’m a lot better when it comes to remembering more significant things, I’d like to start daily journaling in order to immortalize those kinds of small moments, like having someone hold the door for me or a moment of golden hour bliss.
3. *Actually* Drink Enough Water
…as in the 12 cups of water that’s recommended for me. Hydrate or die, y’all. Aside from living, water also does wonders for your skin and overall health soo…!
4. Meditate for 5 Minutes A Day
2018 is the year for mindfulness and centering myself to the world, my life, my goals, and reality.
5. Smile and Greet More People
My friend and I used to have a goal of saying hi to at least ten people a day and compliment at least five as a way to become more “approachable” and spread some positivity in our everyday lives. Same idea here!
